A Caster’s Insatiable Need For A Drink

Playing my Troll Mage and leveling characters has reminded me of an interesting thing that comes up in PUGs sometimes.

That is, when the Tank is going at a fast enough pace and the group is taking on enough mobs at one time that someone in the team eventually says one word over the party line:

“mana”

This, of course, means that the person who said the word NEEDS mana, but the unstated part is that they also expect the group to stop and wait for them.

But the question is: Should the party REALLY stop and wait for them? Or does it really matter? http://wowgrrl.com/2009/09/01/dungeon-tip-if-youre-dps-nobody-cares-about-your-mana/

In EMS, we like to call people who ride motorcycles without helmets future organ donors. Unfortunately, most classes in WoW can’t wear plate helms, and cloth makes for poor protection no matter how well enchanted it is. Noamsie of <True Justice> on Aggramar-EU has decided not to postpone the inevitable, and is riding her Mekgineer’s Chopper straight off a cliff and into oblivion. You can’t get to heaven on roller skates, but I guess a winged motorcycle can ride you right into the clouds. http://www.wow.com/2009/09/05/around-azeroth-the-lost-and-the-damned/

Changing Keybindings Mid-Stream
So, I have a problem with my keybindings. I’m not sure if it accounts for ALL of my recent problems, but I know it’s a major part of why I’ve stopped being as competitive with the rest of my guild’s DPS.

My apologies in advance for the pictures (especially the terrible-looking hands lol).

So, this is my button set-up: http://community.livejournal.com/worldofwarcraft/8030242.html

As you know, the new race and class combinations coming up in the Cataclysm will open a whole new set of doors to people who want an alternative character choice that goes against the grain of their typical racial customs, to one degree or another. With the exception of a couple combinations that feel as though they should have been there from the beginning (such as blood elf warriors, which need no discussion here), each new possibility presents roleplayers with an opportunity to play an outcast of sorts, a character who has made a significant break from the traditions his or her race usually represent. http://www.wow.com/2009/09/06/all-the-worlds-a-stage-cataclysms-new-race-class-combinations/

Upper Deck has posted on their site that they have canceled the upcoming Darkmoon Faire event in France for the TCG. They’ve been having events all over the world of this kind, featuring tournaments, exhibitions, and interaction with the game’s officials and designers (I checked out one such event when it was in Chicago last year). And while they had planned to hold a Faire in Paris in 2009, apparently it’s not going to happen — they say there was “complications” with the “venue,” and the event has been shut down. They are still trying to come to France, however: they’re hoping to hold an event called the Tournois du Voile d’Hiver (“Tournament of Winter’s Veil” in English) in Toulouse in November. http://www.wow.com/2009/09/07/darkmoon-faire-france-cancelled/
